Today is the second day of the 1st Annual Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center Blues Festival being presented at the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center (BMPAC), 4305 Degnan Boulevard, #101, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
Today, Saturday, May 19th from 4:00 5:00 p.m., legendary Jazz & Blues Singer, Barbara Morrison will perform with the Sons of Rhythm, the children of three giants of Los Angeles Rhythm and Blues in the Tribute to the recently deceased Johnny Otis and Etta James, as well as the late Richard Berry.
Morrison with perform with Johnny ³Lucky² Otis (Bass, Vibraphone; Son of Guitarist Shuggie Otis and grandson of bandleader and R&B pioneer, Johnny Otis); Donto James (Drummer, Vocalist; son of the legendary Etta James) and Richard Berry III (Pianist; grandson of composer and pianist Richard ³Louie, Louie² Berry) with Barbara Morrison.
Then, from 5:00 6:00 p.m., Etta James¹ husband and Donto James¹ father, Billy Foster, will perform Classic Rhythm and Blues from 5:00 6:00 p.m. with the group, Billy Foster & The Original Medallions.
