Kizzy Amos is an emerging vocalist whose introduction to music began at a very early age while singing in her local church choir. A native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Kizzy expanded her live performances at a host of area talent shows and state beauty pageants in which she garnered several top awards for outstanding vocal ability. It is Kizzy’s powerful vocals that acknowledge her love for Gospel, Neo-soul, R&B and Hip-Hop music, just to named a few, and commands attention from those who hear her sing.
While traveling along her journey, just to name a few memorable moments from past to present, Kizzy entered into the Pine Bluff’s Cinderella Pageant and received top honor and awards for outstanding singing ability. Determined, Kizzy traveled on to receive four top awards in acting and runway modeling, Equipped and trained for battle Kizzy performed in a talent show case, sponsored by Little Rock, Arkansas’s, “Power 92 Jam Radio Station” where she was honored to have sung an old time spiritual favorite, “Soon I Will Be Done” recorded by Mahalia Jackson. Having her own signature sound and arrangement Kizzy took the audience by surprise and won first place.
This talented vocalist went on to perform at the world renowned, “B.B. King’s House of Blues” for the Music Showcase 6 and the New Artist Showcase striking the interest of Mr. Joe Jackson and family. Before this trip down memory lane pause, it mustn’t go unnoticed that Kizzy also auditioned among thousands and was selected to perform at Showtime in Harlem, formerly known as the world’s famous, “Showtime at the Apollo” in New York City. “For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed singing in front of people,” Kizzy says of her live performances. “Singing comes naturally to me.
It’s like breathing. When I sing a song, I’m sharing a part of who I am, as a vocalist.” Kizzy credits the melodic voices of Mahalia Jackson, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston, just to name a few, as having the biggest influences on her musical style. “I love the versatility and range their voices have.” Like them, I put my heart and soul into the delivery of the songs I sing. When asked about other major influences in her singing, Kizzy credits the contributions from her supportive parents, Larry and Christine Amos, as well as her faith in God. “My parents instilled in me, at an early age, to pursue her dreams and what I wanted to do in life. They also taught me to put God first because God will order your steps.”
Kizzy also has a passion for song writing. She was given the opportunity to co-write a song entitled, “It’s On Again” for J. Records recording artist, Olivia. She is currently writing and recording material for her album that will be released in the near future.
